What guidance does the report potentially provide to the federal and/ or state executive and legislative branches of government in regards to public policies they might create to protect our society?

1. It is important to understand changing social perspectives of our youth on issues such as drug and alcohol usage. The Monitoring the Future Survey is an annual questionnaire that is presented to students in the 8th, 10th and 12th grades. The survey collects data on the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of young people in the United States. The survey provides important data that may help to develop educational programs as well as public policies. These policy changes are especially true in the area of drug and alcohol usage.
Please review the 2021 Monitoring the Future Report (chapters 1 & 2). After reviewing the report, please respond to the following questions:
1) How does the rise in adolescent use of certain drug and alcohol categories potentially impact public policies in this area?
2) What guidance does the report potentially provide to the federal and/ or state executive and legislative branches of government in regards to public policies they might create to protect our society? (For example, how does the increased use of marijuana impact driving under the influence legislation and educational outreach? What about the increased use of vaping products or binge drinking?)
When structuring your response please attempt to identify specific examples (current or historical) of community concerns, combined with legislation, that may help to curb drug and alcohol use by our adult and/ or juvenile populations.Reference:Patrick, M. 2. What is the anthropological definition of culture? Why is it hard to define? How has it changed through time? What are the more important elements of culture?
