YOU ARE ONLY DOING THE PARTS THAT SAY, INDIVIDUAL
For some components of this assignment, you will work with a group. For other components, you will work independently. The group components must be completed first, so please work with your teammates to plan accordingly. This assignment includes four components:
[GROUP] Functional Behavior Assessment Procedures – A Word document written collaboratively and submitted by one agreed upon group member
[GROUP] Functional Behavior Assessment Procedures Training – A PowerPoint presentation designed collaboratively and submitted by one agreed upon group member
[INDIVIDUAL] Functional Behavior Assessment Hypothetical Data and Summary – A Word document written independently and submitted by each group member
[INDIVIDUAL] • Team Peer Feedback Form– An evaluation completed independently and submitted by each group member
Your group will select one of the two case studies presented in the Unit 6 Assignment and use the information provided as the foundation for the Unit 9 Assignment. First, your group will design an FBA to identify the function of one of the behavioral excesses listed in the case study. See below for complete instructions for each component. Next, your group will design a PowerPoint presentation that could be used to train others to conduct each section of the FBA. Then, you, individually, will graph hypothetical data from each section of the FBA and summarize the results of the complete FBA. Finally, you will complete an evaluation of your teammate’s contributions during the completion of the first two components. Throughout the first three components, be sure to use the materials provided in previous units and peer-reviewed, behavior analytic resources from the Purdue Global University Library to demonstrate that your selections, procedures, and/or assumptions in each section are based in relevant research literature and best practice standards.
[GROUP] Functional Behavior Assessment Procedures: Design an FBA to identify the function of one of the behavioral excesses listed in one of the case studies in the Unit 6 Assignment. The FBA must include an indirect assessment, a functional analysis, and a descriptive assessment. Select the procedures to be used for each type of assessment according to the information provided in the case study as well as relevant research literature and best practice standards. Include technical descriptions of all procedures to be used and why the specific assessments chosen would be the best option for the client. Review appropriate safeguards that should be in place to ensure that the FBA is conducted in an ethical manner.
[GROUP] Functional Behavior Assessment Procedures Training: After designing and writing a technical description of the FBA procedures in the first component, develop a training to teach others how to conduct each section of the FBA. Assume that your audience is a group of Registered Behavior Technicians. Use PowerPoint slides as a visual aid in your training and include any activities or practice opportunities that will be utilized in your training by writing instructions for the activity on a slide.
[INDIVIDUAL] Functional Behavior Assessment Hypothetical Data and Summary: Pretend that the procedures designed in the first component have been conducted. Make up and then graph hypothetical data for the indirect assessment, functional analysis, and descriptive assessment. Write a summary of the data for each assessment as well as an overall summary. Identify the variable(s) likely responsible for the maintenance of the behavioral excess and explain how you came to that conclusion. Review how data from indirect assessments and descriptive assessments should and should not be used and provide a rationale.
